Our Mission

Northwest Christian Academy exists for the purpose of assisting the local church in fulfilling Christ’s command: “go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” This institution is built upon the framework of Reformed theology and seeks to provide a biblical worldview to equip students to advance the kingdom of God.

Golden Eagle Foundation

Here’s an opportunity for YOU to cement the legacy of the Northwest Baptist Ministries and help pave the way for a brighter future for the kingdom of God.  The Northwest Baptst Ministries have been making a difference in the North Miami Community for 60 years.  The Golden Eagle Foundation will continue the legacy established by Homer G. Lindsey of reaching youth for Christ.  Your contribution will ensure that the youth have the resources and education to carry on and build upon the legacy that has been established.

The purpose of this project is to provide a sense of history that will bind the past and the present, so that future generations will not forget what God has done for this ministry and how He has seen it through the difficult and challenging times.  When the Israelites crossed the river Jordan they laid stones so that the future generations would not forget what the Lord had done for their ancestors.  This project will honor the rich history of the Northwest Baptist Ministries and forever cement the legacy of those who have sacrificed their lives to serve this community for the advancement of the Gospel and pave the way for a new generation of Christian thinkers, communicators, and leaders.

The thread that binds the history of the Northwest Baptist Ministries is its passion for the youth.  When this ministry focuses its resources on its youth (infant - 25 years) and young married couples, it thrives.  These have been the most significant memories made during the ministry’s 60 year history.  Some examples include the youth bus ministry and the Camp for Crusaders in the early 1960’s the beginning of NCA in the early 1970’s, Awana and the youth sports leagues, mission trips in the  1990’s  and Pastor Summers’ Theology and Bible study classes in the new millennium.  This ministry has thrived and succeeded when it has had a passion for training its youth.  Although most of the ministry’s history has been wrought with rapid change, beginning with the dramatic political and ethnic changes in the early 1950’s and the 1960’s, this constant has remained true:  When the ministry shifted its focus away from training its youth, it has suffered its greatest spiritual droughts.  Therefore, the goal and mandate for every generation of Northwest Baptist Church leaders and congregants is to unapologetically “Train the Youth for Christ”.

This heritage project is dedicated to those who have sacrificed their time, talent, and treasure to advance the Gospel of Jesus Christ in this community.  May the future generations take up the mantle and “Train the Youth for Christ” for the advancement of the Gospel of Christ.
